MORE than 600 choirs are expected to take part in the Methodist Church singing competition this year. Head of the choir competition Reverend Tomasi Kanailagi said the choirs ranged from different categories as it has been in past years. The various categories consider schools tertiary institutions business houses divisions and circuits. Mr Kanailagi said more choirs would have entered if not for the situation the country was facing. "We are expecting more than 600 choirs for the sing competition this year," he said. "Actually we had expected more this year but maybe the present situation has affected their participation." The competition started yesterday with the primary and secondary schools followed by tertiary institutions and business houses.
